Thankful Thursday Week 23

Happy Thursday, y'all!! We're half way through the year, can you believe it?! My wonderful co-hosts and I have loved taking one day a week to focus on gratitude and we thank you so much for joining with us!

With summer upon us, we've decided to take a little break from this weekly linkup to allow more time to spend with family and friends and enjoy the season. We all want to savor this summer! We plan to pick back up in the fall, though. So until then, come back throughout the summer and see what we're all up to.

As I talked about on Tuesday, I'm really focusing on savoring this summer with my family and friends. We have enjoyed pool time every.single.day. and it has been wonderful! We may not spend all day out there, but we spend a good amount of time.

I'm really trying to do what needs to get done (because really, the house doesn't take care of itself), but let go of the things that really don't matter and are more of a preference of how I like things. I'm thankful for this change in thinking because we have been able to spend impromptu swim time and visit time with our neighbors. I'm looking forward to lots of intentional time with family and friends this summer! :)

Thankful Thursday Week 22

Happy Thursday!! My goodness the days are flying by! Do you realize this is our last Thursday of May?! June starts Sunday!! Sheesh! My Thankful Thursday posts are great reminders throughout the week to slooooow down and soak up the beauty of everyday. Won't you join my co-hosts and I in gratitude today?!

{one} How on earth is Emma big enough for a big girl bike?! Well, she is and after seeing this picture, my sweet parents went out that day and bought Emma her first big girl bike! If you follow me on IG, you've seen she's already riding like a pro!

{two} Robert and I were on our way home from church and lunch Sunday afternoon {my parents had taken the kiddos with them after lunch so they could "ride in Papa's truck!"} As we were passing Sams Club, we were stopped by a mini parade by the Budweiser horses! It's a bit difficult to see, but the the horses were beautiful!!

{three} My bestie helped me mark something off my 30 by 30 list {which I'll be sharing with you soon}. I ate sushi!!

{four} Sweet snuggles!! I am constantly overcome with love and gratitude at being these cuties Momma!! Love my babies!!

What about you?! What are you thankful for this week?

Thankful Thursday Week 21

Happy Thursday! Thank you so much for your sweet comments on last week's Thankful Thursday post. My blog friends are wonderful!! Let's get to it again this week with KatieElizabeth, MiaMeUpMia and CarlyBlogsHere. I hope you'll join us!

Is there anything as nice as coming home to your own bed?! Whether you've been away for one night or ten, it's so good to sleep in your own bed!

Despite the reason for our recent visit to Albuquerque, I have always loved that area. This time, however, I was struck with the realization that I love looking out my windows and seeing green everywhere!

When we were house hunting, a pool was not on our wish list. Since my parents have a pool, it just wasn't necessary. However, I have come to love having our own pool! God, in His infinite wisdom, knew my parents would be moving {they're staying in our town, just downsizing}and we'd be losing that pool. And here we are, not losing a pool at all!

I am loving my workout routines with the ToneItUp girls and the BikiniSeries I'm doing right now. {Come back Wednesday for a more detailed post about this!} And, you know how much I love you for coming here and connecting with me, so what better way to say "thank you" than a giveaway?! I'm so excited and thankful to be a part of this giveaway with The Modern Tulip and 7 awesome bloggers!! I wish I could enter myself. :)

Southern Style :: Jess's Designs :: Erica Jacquline :: Kids and Cabernet ::

The giveaway ends Thursday May 29th at midnight.
Winning entry will be verified so please be honest.

Thankful Thursdsay Week 20

Happy Thursday to you! I hope you'll join Katie, Mia, Carly and I as we focus on gratitude this week, big and small. Just link up below or share your thoughts in the comment section.

Today is a bit different than my usual Thankful Thursday posts. You see, yesterday we made an unexpected trip from Tulsa to Albuquerque to attend the memorial service of a childhood friend of Robert's today. Earlier this week he died unexpectedly in his sleep. Heartbreaking!

Is it just me or is it ridiculously easy to lose focus of how wonderful it is to wake up eachseem easier, and more appealing, to slink under the warm covers and snooze for '5 more minutes'.

But, through the events of this week, I'm reminded how grateful I am to wake up each morning. Even when it's early, even when the kids are calling and the demands of the day are waiting for my first step out of bed. I'm alive! Let's not forget to be grateful for something as simple, and miraculous, as the very breath we are breathing.

I'll be back Monday with a scrumptous homemade Sloppy Joe recipe that you won't want to miss. Until then, take time to really enjoy the beauty of everyday!

Thankful Thursday Week 19

Welcome back from another installment of Thankful Thursday. I hope you'll join Mia, Katie, Carly and I as we focus on gratitude this week. Link up with us below or share your thoughts in the comments.

{one} I'm sure by now you've heard about little Ryan and that he tragically went home to be with Jesus this past Friday night. {You can read more about it here.} That combined with Mother's Day this Sunday has me extra grateful for the sweet babies that call me Mommy. It is truly a privilege that I dreamed of hearing my entire life. I was asked the other night, if I could have any job in the world, what would my dream job be?? My honest answer: to be a wife and mother. I'm living out my dream and couldn't be more grateful!

{two} I'm so thankful to be married to my best friend! He may not get as many mentions on here as the kiddos, although if you haven't already, check out his Q&A, but I could not imagine spending my life with anybody other than him.

{three} God has blessed me with some amazing friends, near and far, some I've not even met in person (hello blog world!). They (y'all, too!) made me feel extra loved and special with sweet gifts, cards, emails, texts, etc. I try my best not to ever take their friendship for granted!

{four} I've talked before about how grateful we are for our neighbors. They did it again this week with fresh cut flowers and fresh eggs from two different neighbors. Amazing!

{five} Not pictured are my parents and grandparents. I wouldn't be who I am  today without their influence in my life. So very grateful for them!!

There's a peek into my week. I'd love to see into yours and what you're thankful for, too!

Thankful Thursday Week 18

It's time to link up for Thankful Thursday with myself and my beautiful co-hosts Mia{MakeMeUpMia}, Katie{Katie Elizabeth} and Carly{Carly Blogs Here}. We hope you'll join us as we focus each week on big and small things we're thankful for. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to link up and if you don't have a blog, just share what you're thankful for in the comments!

{one} I was able to participate in The Color Run with two of my besties, Mia and Angela. This was my first 5k, and, although I didn't run the entire time, I'm proud of myself for completing it and having fun while doing it. Surprisingly, I could definintely see myself doing another 5k.

{two} Sunday afternoon brought a short visit from Neighbor and Megan. We've been friends for 10 years already!! Goodness, I feel old!

{three} Thanks to a reminder from sweet Carrington, I was a "yes mom" one night when the kids asked if they could sleep together in Collin's bed. I'm so glad I said yes. This is what I walked in to when I checked on them before I went to bed. Melt.My.Heart.

What about you? What are you thankful for this week?

Thankful Thursday Week 17

Happy Thursday y'all!! I hope you enjoyed a nice Easter with family/friends and are having a great week! Katie, Mia, Carly & I hope you'll join us this week as we share what we're thankful for {big or small}. Lot's to be thankful for this week! Let's get started...

Robert and I enjoyed such a great date day/night/weekend. It was so much fun and so very needed!!

We enjoyed a fun Easter hunting eggs and focusing on the real celebration of Easter. TheChurch.at kicked off a new series that you don't want to miss!

While in Chicago, we were able to spend time with family we don't often get to see. The kids thoroughly enjoyed all the extra loving. :)

The ride home was uneventful, yet fun. We decided to make a pit stop at The Arch to stretch our legs and walk around a bit. After all day in the car, though, knowing we were only an hour from home was thrilling for all!

There's a quick recap of some of the things I'm grateful for this week. I'd love to hear from you! Link up with us below or share your thoughts in the comments!

Thankful Thursday Week 16

Happy Thursday, y'all! I'm heading up to Chicago right now to visit my in laws and other family in the Chicago area. I hope you'll join myself & my sweet co-hosts, Katie, Mia & Carly, to share {big or small} what you're thankful for this week.

{one} I took Emma with me when I got my haircut last Friday so she could get a trim herself. She did great and looks as cute as a button! :)

{two} After a long day out, Emma almost fell asleep in the car but insisted on holding Collin's hand to do so. Love!

{three} We spent the weekend putting together a new play set for the kiddos. Monday was cold, even snowed a little, so it wasn't until Tuesday that they were really able to enjoy it. They enjoyed a picnic on their new little picnic area.

{four} Chocolate fondue with my sweetie!! We enjoyed a game night with chocolate fondue that was delicious.

{five} Not pictured is Max, our Great Dane. He typically sleeps most of the day, but the minute we go outside to play, he is right there beside us. And he just follows the kids all over the yard making sure everything is ok. :)

Thankful Thursday Week 15

Happy Thursday! I'll be back later today with my post. I'm currently without a computer. See ya in a bit! :)
***********************************************

Ok, I'm back! A little late, but better than never, right?! I hope you've already had a chance to stop by Katie, Mia and Carly's blog to see what they're thankful for this week. And if you haven't already, we hope you'll join us and share something big or small that you're thankful for this week!

{one} Obviously, it's no secret that I'm way thankful that Robert is home. He had a good time in Belgium and Italy (big boo I couldn't join him!), but he's just as happy to be home as we are to have him home!

{two} My parents! They have been so encouraging to me this week! They always are, but this week they've been extra encouraging and I am so thankful for their love, words and support!

{three} You!! I am so thankful for the sweet friends I have made through blogging. Honestly, y'all have been SO encouraging to me, especially this past week, and I could not be more thankful for each and every one of you!

{four} The Spring Style Challenge I'm participating in. Our outfits will be released starting Sunday night and I am so excited about it!!

Thankful Thursday Week 14

I know everybody keeps saying "I can't believe it's April!", but seriously, I can't believe it's April!! This year is just flying by and we're already on week 14 of our Thankful Thursday link up! Crazy! My sweet co-hosts Katie @ Katie Elizabeth, Mia @ MakeMeUpMia, Carly @ Carly Blogs Here and I hope you'll join us this week and either link up with us or share in the comments what you're thankful for this week. Here we go!

What is predominately on my mind this week is Robert. I am so very thankful I get to share my life with him.

You know the phrase "Absence makes the heart grow fonder."? Well, it is so true!! Robert has been overseas on a business trip since Saturday and I miss my man!

I am so thankful he doesn't have to travel regularly and I have tremendous respect for wives who's husbands regularly travel. It takes a special women to hold down the fort like that on a regular basis!

Even though I'm counting down the hours for Robert to return, it's been good, too, while he's been gone. We've had a lot of fun with friends and family. And it's been good for Robert and I, speaking on my behalf only, to have the opportunity to allow our hearts to grow fonder. Does that make sense?

It can be so easy to get stuck in a routine in your marriage between work, kids, home, church and every other thing that pulls you this way and that way. But having him gone, gone to the point that I can't regularly talk to him even, reminds me how much I adore doing life with him. At one point this week I even told him I was addicted to him. Ha!

But really, apart from God, Robert is my rock. He's a wonderful hubby, an incredible daddy and my best friend. I'm thankful God chose me to be his wife. He knew exactly what He was doing! :)

Thankful Thursday Week 13

Welcome back for another week of Thankful Thursday with my lovely co-hosts Katie, Mia & Carly! We hope you'll join in with us this week as we focus on gratitude in the big and small!

{Thursday, March 20} It was the first day of Spring and it was sunny and warm outside! While the kids played outside, I looked through a new magazine.

{Friday, March 21} We headed out on our first family camping trip!

{Saturday, March 22} I don't think I took a single picture this day! We made it home from our camping trip, completely exhausted, so spent the afternoon recouping before heading to my parents for a fun family dinner with aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents!

{Sunday, March 23} We went out with Mia and Dustin for a fun date night. As you know by now, they are moving to the beach, so these date nights are even more precious to us!

{Monday, March 24} This cutie lost his second bottom tooth! And then, at our family dinner, Papa paid him $1 to tickle his feet for 5 minutes. Gross and a ripoff is what I say! Collin obviously thought otherwise. :)

{Tuesday, March 25} We snuggled up for a family movie night watching Frozen (along with the rest of America, I'm sure) Can you find my movie watching spot?

{Wednesday, March 26} I love her little voice and the songs she sings all.the.time.

Thankful Thursday Week 12

Happy Thursday! We had an awesome turn out last week for Thankful Thursday...THANK YOU! Katie, Mia, Carly & I hope you'll join us this week, too!

{Thursday, March 13} Collin was trained in canoe safety at swim class and he was the captain of the canoe. Pretty exciting stuff! :)

{Friday, March 14} Another exciting day for Collin...his first t-ball practice! He did good and it was fun watching him on a team. I'm looking forward to his season!

{Saturday, March 15} I took my sweet neighbor to lunch at a cute tea house in town. She had a ball! And I did, too! When I dropped her off at home, she told me how nice it was to go out somewhere with someone. :) This was a delicious piece of Italian Cream Cake I ate.

{Sunday, March 16} I have no pictures from this day because it was a gross, cold, rainy day outside. So after church & lunch, I snuggled up in bed with Emma and took a nice afternoon nap. It was awesome!

{Monday, March 17} Dancing with the Stars premiered!! And I was able to convince Robert to watch it with me after the kiddos were in bed. :) Go, Candace, go!!

{Tuesday, March 18} Tuesday brought the kickoff of a giveaway I'm co-hosting with some lovely bloggers. I just love the blogging community and am thankful for be a part of it!

{Wednesday, March 19} This past weekend I got a new iPad and I'm loving it! You may remember this has been on my wishlist for awhile and it finally happened. Eek! :)

There's a quick look into some of the things I'm thankful for this week. I'd love t see what you're thankful for, too!

Thankful Thursday Week 11

It's Thursday and time for another installment of Thankful Thurday! My co-hosts Mia @ MakeMeUpMia, Katie @ Katie Elizabeth, Carly @ Carly Blogs Here & I hope you'll grab the image below and link up with us as you share what you're thankful for this week!

{Thursday, March 6} A long time ago I told you how enthralled Collin and Emma are by the song He's Alive sung by David Phelps. Well, he actually came to a local church and we were able to go to the concert. Although he didn't sing that song, we thoroughly enjoyed the concert. His voice is ah-mazing!

{Friday, March 7} Neighbor came for a visit...always thankful for that! :)
I'm also thankful my hubby and friends get along so well. They took this jewel while I took a little potty break. {You take my phone, I share your pic. Lesson learned. :)}

{Saturday, March 8} Robert and I enjoyed a date night in after the kids went to bed watching Gravity.

{Sunday, March 9} I have no idea why I didn't take a picture this day, but we enjoyed playing outside in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day, cool, but beautiful!

{Monday, March 10} It was perfect outside!! We played outside of the whole day! I'm so excited for spring and summer days just like this!

{Tuesday, March 11} I'm so thankful for this sweet bear of Collin's. He's had it since he was 4 months old and sleeps with it every night. Honestly, I hope he never outgrows it. :)

{Wednesday, March 12} I was so tired yesterday, so during nap time I laid down too and finished Sparkly Green Earrings. {I'll post about how much I loved this book another time.} Collin was so sweet! He rested with me and as I laid down and closed my eyes, he went and got his blanket, covered me up & sat next to me reading his books while I rested. Such a sweetie!

There's a recap of what I'm thankful for this week! I'd love to see what you're thankful for...link up with us below.
